As a father of three young children- Isobel, Barney and Edward, I have seen the world's problems through new eyes. Which is a good thing! I am passionate about protecting the world around me and feel very strongly that we all have an important role to play in nurturing and protecting our beautiful planet in everything we do. However small our actions may be, collectively we can make a difference.
I'd like to think that my work has helped in some small way to make people think about what they are doing to our planet.
I would like to reduce waste, get people to take responsibility for their consumptionand and know the effects this has. .
I am Business Leader and Chair of Not for Profit Group, backed by the Marketing Society and member (and former Head of Marketing) of WWF-UK, Friends Of The Earth, National Trust, RSPB, Amnesty International.
I am interested in contemporary culture. I am passionate about the environment and nature. And I support Liverpool FC (one day we'll win the premiership.
We try and do our bit for the planet, reducing our environmental footprint– reusing what we can, recycling most things, avoiding highly toxic products, composting, minimising our water usage (with water meter fitted), where possible cycling and walking, using natural cleaning products, only using green energy and ensuring old clothes are recycled and given away.
I play squash once a week and fortunately now only rarely ache the next day.
My favourite quotes:
"We shan't save all we should like to, but we shall save a great deal more than if we had never tried". Sir Peter Scott (1909-89), WWF founder 1961
"The optimism of the action is better than the pessimism of the thought". Harald Zindler. A philosophy that still guides much of Greenpeace's work.
"A good plan violently executed right now is far better than a perfect plan executed next week". General George S Patton
British politics lacks leadership and inspiration. This wastes time and loses voters in our democracy. There is little distinction between the left and right and the depth of experience within government is less than ever before. Environmental policies seem to be about putting the burden onto business to lead the way.

Giles, could you look at the note I've written to Robert Day of the excess packaging campaign please. I liked to see if you think Greenvoice can help in taking this any further and actually making a difference! Thanks

This year we're working with Rough guides who will *hopefully* be providing us with some goodie bags to give to our members. Anything greenvoice can contribute to that is much appreciated. I'll get as much of your stuff out there as I can, but space is limited at the freshers fair for societies. No matter what stuff will be there and it won't mean hiring a booth for goodness-knows how much.

I'm running all this through the committee right now and I'm sure people will be happy to promote Greenvoice in return for some sponsorship.
That aside for a sec
There is an up-and coming event that we're hoping to work towards that I think may be the perfect promotional platform for greenvoice. Hopefully we will be running an environmental-ethical careers fair. It will be mainly aimed at geographers and such, and we could use some sponsorship to get booklets etc printed. In return Greenvoice should get their logo on the front and some nice space inside to advertise.
