About me: I gained my degree (with honors) in Biological Sciences from Birmingham University then went on to do an MSc. in Environmental Biology at Swansea University after which I gained a NERC CASE award to research my Ph.D in ecophysiological modelling and photobiology. I then went on to work in the USA for the Environmental Protection Agency on their Science To Achieve Results team. After funding ended for that project I returned to the UK to start a business aimed at putting the vast amounts of environmental research to practical use. The business is now in its second year and I have just recieved a Social Entrepreneur award and UnLtd Millenium funding for one of my community projects. check out the website at www.gaianlife.co.uk!
Activities: working on Gaian Life mostly.I also run a local (soon nationwide!) initiative called 'Home Grown Organic' and am setting up an permaculture allotment & sustainable technology group called PLOT (people living organically together) I also do factsheets and guides for eco-agriculture and passive solar technology for developing countries and do fundraising to support an orphanage in Nepal....um, spare time? I build and fix computers in any free time as well as doing web design and multimedia for small charity groups etc. Working on doing some environmental podcasts at the mo, should be fun.
