About Rene Jorgensen
My Environmental Objectives: Work hard to create an online campaigning platform that will empower a green grassroots movement.
People I admire: My wife
Things I would like to change: The way we treat Mother Earth: It's all connected - we are 'our' environment - and I would like humanity to respect nature by raising our collective awareness to this level.
About me: I am passionate about the environment and changing the world, which is why I work for Greenvoice as a campaigns manager. I believe that change does not come by itself - we have to make it - and actions speak louder than words. I have been a campaigner since 3rd grade when teachers where still hitting students, and more recently I have worked for Greenpeace, Anti-war organisations, and local grassroots movements. Today, I am fully committed to making Greenvoice a powerful online force to save our planet. As a person, I have substance because I know who I am and my fire as an Aries (sign) brings me a lot of drive in the direction I focus my attention. I am originally from Denmark, but now live in London with my Canadian wife and soul mate, Valerie.
Activities: Spending time with my wife, learning, drinking coffee, art/museums, experiencing life in full color.
Interests: Philosophy. I like to both read and write books that advance the evolution of human consciousness.
Favorite Music: From classical music to electronic house/trance.
Favorite Films: Amazing Grace, Lions for Lambs, No Country for Old Men, The Notebook, The Fountain
Favorite TV shows: News, Informative tv, docs, Just for Laughs
Favorite Books: Liddel & Scott; Greek/English Lexicon (1882), The Bardo Thodol, Awakening After Life
Favorite Quotes: "An object over there does care about what you do to another object over here...the two photons are so intimately bound up that it is justified to consider them - even though they are spatially separate - as part of one physical entity." (Prof. Brian Greene, Quantum Physicist)

I'll try and get those tear and share cards out this freshers week coming. So wish me luck! As for the society, can you let me know asap. There may be many beneficial ways we can help each other. Finally, I will be using the freshers fair as a shopping event, to find societies interested in using the greenvoice platform to campaign. It may be helpful if this goes ahead if you can get me a poster or two. Lee :)

This year I am the vice president of the geography society. I would love to promote greenvoice social networking through our society, as it is presenting the site to a prime audience so to say - people interested in our planet! It would be nice if you could provide us with some goodies, sponsorship, a prize for a society competition or anything along those lines. This way you get promotion, and our society gets something too. There is even a possibility of socials and events being greenvoice themed to get the message across. While it does not promote the campaign side of the site, it should promote it as an idea social medium to freshers and continuing members alike - and an academic place to converse.

My focus this freshers fair is two-fold. Firstly and most importantly it is to promote the greenvoice social site to prospective members. Secondly to liaise with campaign groups and societies who will be interested in using the greenvoice platform. I think this is how I can be the most use this year. As for my own personal campaign, I am going to give it a rest, on hiatus, to enable me to focus on my above objectives.
