Deadline tomorrow - please help save Korean wetlands!

  • Important wetlands, mountains and rivers are facing destruction in Korea - you can help us stop it!

Please support Friends of the Earth Korea by joining their campaign against the Great Korea Canal Project. The plans involve building a network of canals that will cut through the Korean peninsula, destroying the fragile wetlands, mountains and rivers in it's path.

The deadline is tomorrow so please take 30 seconds out of your day to sign the petition on our website as soon as you can. http://www.foei.org/en/get-involved/take-action/great-korea-canal-project/

If completed, the Canal Project and pollution caused by the heavy cargo ships using it would seriously threaten the drinking water of 24 million people and damage the river ecosystems. These rivers and wetlands provide vitally important habitats for 58 wildlife species specifically protected by Korea’s own environmental legislation because of their rarity and importance to the Korean nation.

Please sign the petition now and send this message to to all your friends immediately, before it is too late. http://www.foei.org/en/get-involved/take-action/great-korea-canal-project/

    Thank you,
    Sophie
