Ugly Veggies - They have flavours too!

Thousands of vegetables get throw away or left to rot because the public demand 'perfection' in thier fruit and veg. Supermarkets shun the Ugly veg and fruit forcing farmers to root out the imperfect veg, well we say EAT UGLY VEG, THEY HAVE FLAVOURS TOO. Stop the supermarket demand for perfection and love the odd shaped veg.

  • Food waste

Todays news on BBC and the Independent's "Throwaway Britian" says that in the UK alone £10 billion in food is wasted a year - e.g. 1.6m in bananas.

It would be interesting to add to the debate how much the supermarkets waste in grade B veggi's. Does anyone know this number?
