Living in the district covered by the Green Dog Walkers project I can attest to the fact that it is needed and has great potential. This is a really good example of how local groups can be very innovative and pioneering.
The "byproduct" issue is one of the reasons we don't own a dog but I suppose we would get used to picking it up if everyone else did! It is a real nuisance in our area and even worse in central London. Biodegradable bags are a possibilty. I've noticed that comedians always pick on responsible dog owners but they are just as mean about the ones who don't clean up. You can't win. Perhaps the campaign should also react and complain when they hear that sort of thing on the media.
Yes, the dog poo problem is basically universal! The dog poo bags are biodegradable, at least the ones we use here and that I've checked on on the Internet, so that's a good thing anyway! I often think we need some really high profile comedian to get behind the anti-litter and anti-dog fouling campaigns, to help turn attitudes around. Hey, Billy Connelly, I have a few ideas for you!
Cheers, Michelle
Just a quick message to thank Greenvoice.com for all their support for this campaign! So many people are signing up every day now, from seeing it here and in Your Dog Magazine. It's great networking for both Green Dog Walkers and Greenvoice.com. Can't wait to meet the Greenvoice gang in Falkirk on 13th June!
