Flying now accounts for 13% of the UK's climate change effect, and is the fastest growing source of CO2. One return flight to Rome produces about as much CO2 as all one person's electricity and gas for a year.

Why should you join?

More and more people are coming to realise (sometimes reluctantly) that flying can make up a huge proportion of their own personal carbon footprint. If you are serious about trying to reduce our contribution to climate change, then cutting down on flights can be a significant step. If you share our concerns about the total contradiction between government policy on climate change, and its policy to expand aviation (three times as many flights predicted by 2030 as in 2000) - then join us. Let's start by fighting to stop any more runways being built .......
