“I pledge to refill my water bottle”
I promise to refill my water bottle every day at work, so that I will not waste energy through buying bottled water instead.

The concept of bottled water is purely ridiculous; it produces huge amounts of waste, huge profits to unethical companies that far from deserve them, and encourages people to drink water that could (some would say IS) damage their health. The environmental cost involved in plastic production, bottling, and transporting the bottled water is horrific.
Many pubs and clubs do not allow you to purchase or have provided free a glass of water, but instead only offer bottled water, and at a grossly inflated price... not good for those that don't drink.
...So that's basically the reasons that i am taking the pledge. -
Another thing to think about is all the chemicals from the plastics leeching into the water inside the bottle especially if left in the sun etc..
A flask is best so don't re-use your old plastic water bottle it is not good for your health!

Bottled water is a triump of marketing over common sense. Bottled water costs on average £2 a bottle. Why are we paying when the water from the tap is perfectly safe? Its madness!
A few things to ponder:
Producing and delivering a litre of bottled water emits hundreds of times as much greenhouse gas as a litre of tap. Also think of the fact that the industry is worth over £2 billion when a billion people around the world don't have access to safe drinking water. I say alot of money down the drain. -
I always carry my trusty (quite old now) metal water bottle and refill with tap water. Cant remember the last time I purchased bottled water, it must have been a long time ago. I also try and use a flask for tea / coffee. I get strange looks on my commute

I actually prefer the taste of tap water most of the time.

Hi Rene,i agree with you 100%, and have changed my habits. I now drink from a resuable bottle made by Swiss company SIGG that not only looks cool, but is functional as well. It is ECO-friendly, and is 100% taste and odour neautral, so basically your water
